Adult Education Committee
Responsible for directing adult education
Chesed Committee
Directs the social action programs of the shul including rides to shul on Shabbat, visits to elderly members, shelter week, Yad Ezra deliveries and mitzvah projects for bar/bat mitzvah children.
Circle of Friends
Members from the former Soviet Union (New Americans) get together on Sunday mornings with “old” Americans for conversation in English and programs, learning about each others’ cultures.
College Connection
Responsible for keeping the college-aged children of members informed and involved, with small gifts at Channukah, Purim and pesach and periodic dinners with the clergy.
Communications and Marketing
Responsible for marketing CBS to the general community, publicizing events internally and externally and recommending communication policy for the shul.
Congregational Programming
Responsible for planning and executing congregation-wide events, such as the monthly Kiddush lunches and Shabbat dinners and periodic lunch and learns.
Family Education Committee
Responsible for family programming/education around holidays, halacha and other topics as it determines.
Fundraising Committee
Responsible for developing the fundraising strategy and goals for the congregation and oversight of sub-committees.
Gan Board
Responsible for the overall operation of the Gan including policy decisions and budgeting.
Gan PTA
Responsible for fund-riasing for the Gan and nurturing the relationship between the Gen families and the Gan teachers.
Investment Committee
Members are financial professionals charged with oversight of the management of the shul’s investment portfolio.
Israel Affairs
Responsible for programming/education about Israel.
Kesher
A social group of 40-50 somethings who meet monthly for a variety of activities.
Membership Committee
Responsible for developing strategies and executing plans to meet membership goals set by the board. Also responsible for welcoming and engaging new members.
Men’s Club
Affiliated with the Conservative Movement’s Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, this organization offers a variety of social, educational, religious and social action events.
Nominating Committee
Formed annually and chaired by the immediate past president, responsible for formulating the slate of officers and trustees for the year.
Religious School Board
Responsible for the overall operation of the Religious School including policy decisions and budgeting.
Religious School Parents (RSP)
Responsible for fund-raising for the Religious School and nurturing the relationship between Religious School families and the teachers.
Ritual Committee
With the clergy, responsible for defining ritual practice within the congregation, within the guidelines of the Conservative movement.
Sisterhood
Affiliated with the Conservative Movement’s Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, this organization offers a variety of social, educational, religious and social action events

A social group of active 75+ members who meet monthly for a variety of activities.
Young Families’ Chavera
A social group of members with young children who meet monthly for a variey of family-oriented activities.
